Day Two: Columbus …

This is actually the second time I’m writing the very same entry .. why you ask? Well the first version of this got lost somewhere in cyberspace .. so, here we go again. It was Thursday, February 1st and I was heading east on 70 towards Columbus. We always travel first class … and I arrived at the Red Roof in around 6pm. The Magi-Fest was held near by and the first show was in about an hour. I don’t even remember who was on the show … I would have to look it up, its all kind of a blur. After so many years in magic .. it’s all pretty much the same, for me at least. Some of the talent is good … and some, well .. not so good. Years ago, I learned that bad magic was not only limited to the Chicagoland area. I’ll save that for another time .. now where was I?? Lets see .. it was opening night of the convention and also our first peak into the dealers room, thats where we see what is new in magic. I’m still like a kid in a candy store .. its always fun to be fooled. I picked up a couple of new tricks to play with at the hotel .. I’m still working on them.

It was getting late .. and I still haven’t had dinner. I know better than to eat at midnight .. but, I was starving. Not too far down the street I saw a familiar sign .. Steak ‘n Shake. I had my usual … the Frisco melt with a Vanilla Coke, that always does the trick for me. I was meeting Dan in the morning as he was flying in from Vegas. So once again I watched a little TV .. and it was off to dreamland.
